Achelous is a god of Greek myth who has three forms: a serpent, a bull and a bull-headed human. He wrestled with Hercules to win the hand of Dejanira. Achelous was defeated and while in his bull-headed form he lost his horn. The blood that protruded from his horn became Sirens. Naiads later discovered the horn and filled it with flowers.
