Water Nymphs of Hindu mythology that were created during the Churning of the Waters and now dance in heaven in front of Indra. They sometimes live in banana and fig trees where passers by can hear them playing cymbals and lutes. They are also companioned with the Gandharvas, the air spirits of music. They give good fortune to those who engage in games of luck but can cause derangement in those that hear their music by enticing them with their smiles. They also live in arjuana trees and live among the peacocks.
