The winged ram in Greek mythology. According to legend, Prince Phryxus son of the King Athamus of Thesaly, was accused of causing a famine by his step mother. So the prince fled on the winged ram to Colchis where he sacrificed the ram to the god Zeus in gratitude of his escape. Zeus was impressed so he made a constellation called Aires in the sky.
