Semi supernatural beings from Quiche in Mexico. The name means ‘Nocturnal Jaguar’. According to the ancient creation myth, he was the second man to be created on this earth along with Balam-Quitze, Mahucutah and Iquitos Balam. He married a woman called Chomihá. She was created by the gods and here name means ‘Beautiful Water and Chosen’. They four Jaguar men were made by Harukan from white and yellow maize paste after the world was flooded.
Later the Balam-Agab became a name given to creatues fo that haunted the forests of Quiche. He wears a black and blue coloured jaguar skin.
