A 7 - 8ft human creature covered in long brown or black fur. There have been many sightings of the Bigfoot. It has long arms, a flat nose and is strong enough to make trees. Footprints of the creature are said to be 40 - 55cm (16 - 20 inches) in length. The Couer d’Alene tribes of Spokane call them tree Devils and say that they can run fast and camouflage themselves as trees. The mythical creature was first seen by white men in 1811 although natives of the Pacific north west of America had seen it for many many centuries. The most famous image of it was captured on film by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin. Frame 352 shows a black thick haired humanoid creature walking across some rocks. Sometime later after the footage was released Bob Heironimus confessed that he had dressed up in a gorilla suit to make the film. The famous female biologist known Jane Goodall is known for her fascinating studies on apes and monkeys She believes that the Bigfoot exists. Other famous scientists such as Jeffery Meldrum also express their beliefs in the creature.
The Bigfoot was spotted in 1924 when Fred Beck with four other miners were attacked by it in July. They said several ape men threw rocks at their cabin and tried to break in. He wrote a book based on this experience in 1967 claiming that they were mystical creatures from another dimension.
In 1941 Jeannie Chapman and her children said that they escaped their home when a 7.5 ft tall Bigfoot approached their house in Ruby Creek, British Columbia.
On 16th September in 2007 hunter Rick Jacobs captured an image of a Bigfoot using an automatically triggered camera which he had attached to a tree. However a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Game Commission stated that the footage was of “a bear with a severe case of mange”. The photo was taken near the town of Ridgway, Pennsylvania, in the Allegheny National Forest.
