A strange human race form India and documented by Pliny the Elder in his Historia Naturalis (77 AD). They have keen eyes, the teeth of dogs and let out a terrible scream. They have no language and hairy bodies. It is possible that these were early sightings of monkeys. The name implies that this tribe was located in the kingdom of Mandi at the foothills of the Himalayas.
