A Giant from ancient Britain. According to Geoffery of Mammouth in his Historia Regnum Britanniae, he describes Corineus as the leader of the Trojans that reportedly wiped out the Giants of Albion (Britain). Corineus was later recruited as lieutenant under Brutus who invaded Albion. However by the 18th century this history became somewhat distorted and Corineus had become another name for Gourmaillon which was one of the Giants of Albion that were killed by the Trojans. One story tells how Corineus defeated the great Giant Gogmagog in single combat by lifting his opponent in the air and throwing him off a cliff.
