Dehotgohsgayeh is a Giant that has an extremely ugly faced. One half is black and the other is red. His name is roughly translated as ‘Wry Face’ or ‘Split-Faced Being’. He carries a staff made from the trunk of a hickory tree in one hand and in the other he wields a large rattle so all can hear him. From his hickory tree bark belt he wears a pelt of a bear. He lives in the darkness of the earth and of the forests and only come out during the night. Dehotgohsgayeh is a cheerful Giant who helps and protects humans from danger.
