She originates from ancient Greek mythology as a woman with one leg of a donkey and the other leg of brass. The goddess Hekate sent Empusa to harass travellers on the road and accused them of grave robbing. Later she was believed to be a shape-shifting spirit that takes the form of a dog, ox, or mule and seldom as a beautiful woman. She causes all sorts of accidents to sheep when the farmers are not watching.
