A predatory giant bird of Kwakiuti people of northern Canada that looks like a fish-eating bird. She has a massive beak of which random piece of vegetation grows on. She is coloured red, black and white and has oval nostrils and a spiraling beak. Galokwudzuwis hunts humans with her husband Bakbakwakanooksiewae. Galokwudzuwis plays a key role in the Hamatsa ceremony alongside Hokhokw and Bakbakwakanooksiewae. In this ceremony people dress up as these birds and dance. The Hamatsa ceremony is part of the Winter Dance, called ‘tseka’.
