This was one of the legendary Giants of ancient Britain by Roman accounts. The source of this Giant comes from the English writer and traveller Camden who, in 1610 reported that there was a hole in the city wall known as Onion’s Hole. In the hole were Roman coins known as Onion’s Pennies. It is believed that because the hole was of enormous size, an enormous being had created it.
