A Giant from that helped carve the landscape. He once was carrying a huge mound of earth. However he tripped over the Cotswold Hills and the earth fell creating Maes Knoll. As his shovel fell it dug into the land and created Wansdyke. The Giant then ran for fear of embarrassment and rebuke but in such a rush he caught his foot, fell into the Bristol Channel and drowned. His body became the islands of Steepholm and Flatholm.
