A colossal woman from the beliefs of the Tlingit people of North America. Her name means ‘Old Woman Under Us’ and she lives under the Earth supporting it. She came to replace Beaver who balanced the Earth on his foot. Sometimes, due to hunger, she would lose her concentration, and lost her balance. This resulted in earthquakes from above. The earthquakes could be stopped by throwing meat down into deep holes in the ground to feed her.
