One of the Balam of Mexican belief. His name means ‘Tiger of the Moon’. There were four of them that guarded the four cardinal directions. He was one of the first jaguar-men to live on earth. The god Harukan created a wife for him called Caquixaha. Her name means ‘Water Macaw’. They four Jaguar men were made by Harukan from white and yellow maize paste after the world was flooded.

The other three Balam were Balam-Ahab, Balam-Quitze and Mahu-Cutah.
