A cosmic snake of ancient Egypt that is so vast it stretches across the sky. When the sky god Ra comes to the end of the horizon in his journey across the sky, he sails his boat through the open mouth of the snake and night begins. He then reaches the end of the snake and starts his journey across the sky once more.
