A Centaur of Greek myth whose parents were the Centaurs Ixion and Nephele. An enemy to Hercules he was killed in a wedding where drunken Centaurs went riot. Hercules shot him with arrows that had been dipped in the poisonous blood of the Hydra. As Nessus lay dying he convinced Hercules’ wife to keep his blood in a bottle. He advised to put this blood on Hercules if he is unfaithful to bring him make to her. When Hercules started to stray away in his relationship, his wife smeared the blood of Nessus on his shirt. When Hercules put on the shirt the poisonous blood seeped through his skin and killed him.
