One of the Titans of classical mythology of Greece and Rome. Hyperion was the son of Uranus and Gaia among many other Titans. His name means ‘Swift’ and his sister was Tethys. It is from Tethys that all the rivers flowed and the Oceanids, the water Nymphs were born. Oceanus teamed up with many other Titans once rescued from Tartarus to take up battle with the Olympian gods. The Titans were defeated and Oceanus was killed in battle.
