A giant lizard with a poisonous bite and lived near volcanoes. It became an emblem of the a building’s protection from fire. According to bestiaries of Anglo-Saxon belief, it would poison fruit trees. These fruits were potent enough to kill lions. It became a symbol to how those with faith will be liberated on Judgement day. It is also the Elemental creature of fire. Wizards call upon the power of the Salamander when they cast spells based on heat and fire.
