Sampati is a giant man-eagle that is the mount of Vishnu and is similar to the Garuda. Sampati was born from Anu and his wife Syeni. Aruna is the brother of Garuda and Syeni is the daughter of Tamra. He has a sibling called Jataya. Both began life as two balls of powerful energy. Sampati is also known as the ‘King of Vultures’. Whereas the Garuda has an eagle like head the Sampati has the head of a human. In one of the great adventures of Hindu myth, Sampati goes in search for the missing Sita. He finds her to be captive under the control of Ravana in his city.
