A species of Djinn from Islamic beliefs born from the ashes of hell. They turned people mad tormenting them and causing them to do sin. They appeared in many different shapes, such as voluptuous women, wild animals, sprites or voices in the desert winds. They inhabited market places, deserts, wastelands and crossroads. The are mentioned in the text ‘Tales of the Thousand and One Nights’. Later the word Shaitant became the word Satan used to denote the Devil in Christian belief.
