A Dragon or large serpent that ravaged the land of Thespiai in Boiotia which is now Central Greece. Every year a maiden was offered to the creature to appease it from destroying the land. A hero name Menestratos took it upon himself to kill the beast. He offered himself as a sacrificed but he wore bronze platted armour that had spikes on the outside. When the serpent tried to devour him his throat was pierced by the armour and it died quickly.
