A creature of Greek myth that was an enemy to Zeus. It had one-hundred heads which each had eyes that blazed fire. It had serpents for arms and was born from Gaia and Tartarus. Zeus attempted to overcome the Typhon with his sickle but the reptilian creature was too powerful and it wounded Zeus. Agipan and Hermes helped to restore and heal Zeus to former strength. The Moirae or Fates made Typhon drunk. In a drunken state, Zeus was able to drive the beast to the underworld where it remained. Living the underworld Typhon became the source of hurricanes and mountains to erupt on earth.
