His name translates as ‘The Light of the God’ or ‘My Light is God’. He is the light that guides people to heaven on the Day of Judgement. Some scriptures refer to him a Ariel but he is mainly known as Uriel. There is also confusion on whether he is an Angel as some scriptures now considered not divinely inspired mention him as a human being. He is the guardian of the south and is one of the four Seraphim. Early depicts the four Angels around God’s throne, one in each of the cardinal directions.
