One of the Rakshasas of Hindu mythology. He had an ugly face with large yellow and an oversized mouth ringed with fangs that continuously dripped blood. He wore tiger skin garments and preyed on humans. He once attacked a group of travellers in the forest. During the fight, Viradha was defeated and landed wounded on the ground. Still he was not dead and ready to still fight, so the travellers dug a whole and buried the creature. To their surprise, a Gandharva rose out from the ground and thanked the travellers for breaking its curse. The god Kubera had the Gandharva transformed into Viradha.
