- North American (culture)
- Neutral (behaviour)
- Fearsome Critters (common type)
The Whing-Whang is a most peculiar creature apart of the Fearsome Critters that featured in the tall tales of the emerging America at the turn of the last century. It goes unnoticed by day and lives near the beach. For most of the time it lives its life unseen and unheard. However on those nights when the moon turns an orange colour, the Whing-Whang comes out from its resting place. On this night the Whing-Whang writes its name in the sand over and over again. As the night lightens and the sun starts to rise, the Whing-Whang rubs out what it wrote and then quickly disappears.
